ID 1 form

My mother in law has gone into a care home due to alzeimers.  After applying to the court of protection my husband and myself are both an attorney. My husband only has an ID1 form from the Land Registry office. Should I be filling out a form too or is not necessary? They say that by considering deferred contributions this form must be filled out.  We are not selling the house yet because we had to apply to the court to give us this authority to do this. At the moment the house is sitting in my mother in law's name and nobody else lives there.  Why do we need to fill this form out? We are both concerned that if there are any problems with the house at all we will be responsible.

Why do either of you need a form from the Land Registry?

The house can just be sold and the change made straight into the purchaser's name?

You are responsible for the property and so yes, if " there are any problems with the house at all we will be responsible.  "
So you need to make sure it is insured, and any insurance clause regarding 'unoccupied property' is complied with.
You need to check the utilities and council tax are paid, and that leaks in the roof don't develop or are fixed.
But ID1 for the Land Registry? No idea why.
If/when you sell then yes, you'll need to show proof of who you are and why you have authority to sell, but not till then.
