PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. If you're not looking at moving anytime soon then your neighbour might move out by the time you do want to move so may not be an issue. I know it's annoying to have a bad neighbour but I'm not really sure what advice you want if they are not doing anything illegal on their land.0

Assuming you have a mortgage and as said, he has taken more than a few cm's of your land, you should be able to claim legal fees on your home insurance (?)Have the works he has done up to party wall caused any identifiable damage to your property? As said, the waterways encroachment and the buildings he has had removed should be ignored as unfortunately you are not a party to either. The only 'revenge' I can see you having is if the canal path is a public right of way, then tip off the militant ramblers about it being blocked...May you find your sister soon Helli.
