Thank you dustydigger - you are so right about the conditions here. The lies and deceit are so rampant. I despair.
we will probably be a fascist country with a dictator in a few years if we continue how we are going. I'm glad I am in my mid-seventies without too much longer to go.

Hi Nancy. George Washington must be turning in his grave. ''Father,I cannot tell a lie'' means absolutely nothing to people who deride truth and honour at every turn. All those famous checks and balances only work with honourable people. If you are shameless and an inveterate outright liar its water off a duck's back.I used to daily follow US politics, then after the January 6 debacle I just gave up.You all must be nervous wrecks!4

We are. That is for sure. Made sure everyone in this house got out to vote - 5 of us. I wish they would just charge the orange-faced liar and get it over with.3

Morning all. Still feeling rotten, exactly 3 weeks after Mr Dusty passed his cold on to me. Lungs packed with unpleasant gunk, coughing nonstop, weak as a kitten, but its bearable, much better than the first 2 weeks when I was so ill.Hopefully I will be much improved by Xmas, fingers crossed. Not doing anything, just lying around resting my body. At least I am getting a bit reading done,20 mins at a time throughout the day.Last month I was depressed at putting on 3 lbs . Being ill has taken that back off,I am back to 15st 11lbs,the weight I was at when I started using metformin 5 months ago. So I have lost half a stone in 2022,I had hoped for a stone.Remember a month ago I had all sorts of plans for setting up exercising, walking etc? I havent been able to even drag myself across the room!Oh well, nice to get back into the 15 stone zone, seeing that 16st was depressing. If I could only manage to get to 15st 10lbs,my lowest weight in 3 years by Xmas,I'd be happyMr Dusty has a covid jab today. I've asked him to book covid and flu for me as I cough so much I cant use the phone its so embarrassing roaring in people's ears. It took 3 weeks to arrange a jab for Mr D,so I dont expect an appointment till some time in December. They cancelled my back hospital appointment on the 13th,but have arranged one on 20th. Sunday morning at 10.45.What a boring post, done nothing, been nowhere. I do have £30 left in HBB which will probably go in the savings binder.. I spent £60 on my asd@ delivery this week,my freezer and cupboards are packed,so next week I think I will do my Xmas drinks order and my Icel*and confectionary order.,that will make great strides for Xmas5

Dusty = It is really hard to lose weight when you are on Metformin. It usually seems to cause a weight gain. Hope you feel better soon - sounds like you are having a really bad time with this cold. Lots of honey, lemon in the hot tea might help.4

Hi people! Slight improvement in the lungs now,but still coughing badly. This stage usually lasts weeks. On top of that I thought I would try a few chores. Tidied up the kitchen yesterday, and did some cooking, and this morning my back is killing me. Oh well, that might be helpful to the consultant at my orthopaedics appointment on SundayNew fortnight, new budget.--------------------------------------Dusty's Frugal Fortnight #14 Budget for 14th November to 27th NovemberPart is online, part cashonline income: £79 pension ,£250 added to bank from our Pension Credit.making £329 in total in bankThen £73 cash to HBB (Home Budget Box)Total income for fortnight.-£402.All bills paid online as follows(rounded up)Water Rates - £36Charity DD - £6Kindle Unlimited - £8Life insurance - £20Asd@ food deliveries (estimate) - £180total online bills - £250 To bank buffer - £79---------------------+I stocked up on food stores the last two fortnights,so this week and next week I will be getting in my xmas drinks for the family. This week I have ordered 8 bottles of wine, for the ladies and next week will be spirits for the boys - Jack Daniels, vodka and Baileys.+ I will sort my selection boxes etc from Icel*nd this week too. I have saved up on my bonus card all year, and have around £80.Actually some of that is the Icel*nd bonus. They give you £1 for every £20 saved, which is pretty good as things go.
And you do it online. Tesc* was always a nuisance being only able to save in store, once they closed down the big Tesc* that was it.
+ We got our £324 off the govt yesterday. I gave Mr Dusty the £24 as a gift and put the £300 straight in the energy envelope in my savings binder. Dont want to put it in the bank yet till Xmas is all sorted, dont want to mix up different funds.Once again there is a energy payment adjustment,my payment has gone down from £238 pm to £218pm. I will of course save every penny from that reduction, because when the 6 months price cap is gone who knows what will be happening.God knows what Hunt has in store for us. Dreading Thursday's budget,,not so much for ourselves,we will be helped but that dreaded word ''targeting'' just means masses of people who were getting help are going to have that help ripped away. All for ''austerity'' . It failed badly back in 2010,with Cameron, destroyed public services. At that time Labour had built up services well, then they have since been cut to the bone,so there is nothing left to cut. Deliberate, hurtful policies to make govt smaller, and look at the dire results for our NHS,schools and other public services. The rich have got seriously richer, but everyone else is poorer. Life is going to be hell for millions. I despair.....Anyway,we must just plod on. On a happier note great granddaughter1 is 6 years old this Friday. And DGD4 will be 13 mid December. Where on earth does the time go?

Had a hard time getting into Icel@nd site.In the end I guessed it was going to be like Asd@,I cant get in to the site on Firefox, have to use Microsoft. I dont like that browser at all,but I got into Icel@nd at once, after wasting 15 mins and having to change my password on Firefox to no avail,so it looks like for shopping I will have to use Microsoft. I dont like Bing as a search engine, you get masses of ads etc and not a lot of useful websites given. It seems geared towards shopping,I want my browser giving information etc But I will have to use it if I want to do online grocery shopping. I have no idea why Firefox, after 12 years of use,has gone strange!I ordered all my sweets, selection boxes, and 2 packs of pepsi Max(£8.50 each,Asd@ are £10.50 at the moment. My whole shop Icel@nd shop came to £65,so I have £15 on my bonus card ready to start again for next year.Cool. I just wish the shop was nearby. Its 7 miles away,10 mins walk from the bus station,so you cant really browse well online. Oh well,I have most of my chocs etc,and free delivery on Thursday,I'm progressing.4

I tend to use Chrome these days. Chrome definitely works with Iceland online.4

I think Firefox has been superseded. I had it on my old computer that 'went' in February. The problem was that I could not update because I was using Vista so could not get into certain banking sites..
When I got the new computer my friend downloaded Chrome for me saying it was better / up-to-date.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
