Found an excellent website of SF short fiction online, and will be able to fill in quite a few letters in a shorter period of time.
Hi Dusty, your thread is excellent, especially all the reading challenges. I’ve been wanting to try some SF for a while. Would you mind sharing the link for the short fiction site please?

imageimageTwo letters this morning. One from the council saying we are eligible for that £150 grant people got in April. Big surprise. We dont pay council tax,so wasnt expecting this. That will be a first deposit in my new Energy bills savings envelope. Cool
:( Mixed results with my hospital appointment, which came today. Appointment is at 10 am Wednesday 15th.
Downside is that it is at a hospital miles away.,two buses.Never been there before.
I remember back in 2014 when I needed scans of my nasty knees. Instead of sending me to the hospital in Sunderland,7 miles away, they sent me to a little private far away place,an Aspire hospital. We hadnt a clue where it was,so went searching the day before and finally found it,a 10 minute walk along suburban streets to a clinic hidden away in trees on a road leading up to the A19! :D So the next day I just went alone. No problem with locating it,but agony on my rotten knees.Far from a bus stop.
Seems Sunderland hospital was always snowed under and delegate things to private places to try to catch up on their waiting lists
This time my apptmt is at the NHS hospital in South Shields, the sister hospital to Sunderland, they are one administrative unit. At least they are on a main bus route,30 mins journey from Sunderland.Brings back my college days when
I covered part of that route everyday on my way to Library School in Newcastle

Hi Rosetta! I do have a site with free online stuff I do use. They have a list of favourite, well known stuff (wellknown to SF fans that is! ) that you could check out:)
There are lots of YouTube videos helping out beginners in SF,they are very helpful. Just type in Sscience fiction for beginners and there are loads of threads. That will probably be more useful to you. Have fun. :)

@rosetta92 had some problems doing the link.Tried a second time to edit it and couldnt get in.
I often make the mistake of using SF as my acronym for science fiction. Too often when I do that I end up with google results about San Fransisco! :D

Hi ,bupster, you're welcome. I see you had mixed fortunes on the grocery challenge! :)  I daren't even formally try it,its no easy task trimming. In my case I will trim, but Mr Dusty is set in his ways...expensive ways, salmon, fresh lamb, best quality syeak, costliest potatoes, the list goes on... But I have definitely found that doing a shop online weekly is helping. I stick to my list mostly, and if I run out of something I will adapt and wait the few days to the next shop.
Except when I forget Mr Ds weetabix and have to pay £3.75 at the exorbitant cornershop of course. That's a strong incentive to keep things backed up in the cupboard!
Anyone else do th GC challenge, and when and how do you all shop
