Phoned the surgery and explained the situation. The secretary checked uo and I have definitely been placed on the triage list. Like me she thinks the delay is because of the long weekend,I should do nothing for now,if there is no progress I should phone her Friday afternoon, and she will check it out.And no,I shouldnt get in touch with the hospital, they have their procedures, just be patient
.
-------------Right,I've peeled and put on the potatoes for Mr Dusty's roasties, and the carrots. The lamb is beautifully tender....by coincidence the person who gave us the lamb just texted while I was writing this very sentence, asking if we had enjoyed the lamb. He only gave it to us at 5.55pm yesterday, bit optimistic thinking we'd already eaten it,dont you think?Mr D has gone off to town to look for plantain and exotic fruits. Actually paying for it out of his own pocket, since I am always whingeing about the cost of living all the time.2 -
I think I had better try to speed up completing some of my reading challenges,in case things go pear shaped later. I hate not completing something! On LibraryThing my group do a yearly Alphabet Challenge. We must read a book by an author from all the letters of the alphabet.Plus a title starting with each of the letters of the alphabet.Cant use the same book for both categories,so that makes 52 books in all. So far I have completed 18/26 authors and 17/26 titles. It gets tricky as time goes on,as you obviously read several books from the same letters as you go along. Then there are the ''Pesky Letters'' as I call them, letters like X and Z,which can be more difficult.I've realized I havent completed new letters for a couple of months, too distracted or busy reading books from letters already completed so.I am going to -well,not cheat, but tweak the rules a little. I am going to look out for short stories. Found an excellent website of SF short fiction online, and will be able to fill in quite a few letters in a shorter period of time. And less strain on my eyesightauthors still to do : I,J,N,O,Q,U,W,Ytitles still to do :- J,P,Q,T,U,V,X,Y,Z.already locatedt someauthors - Alex Irvine, Gwynneth Jones, Garth Nix, James P Olsen,Seabury Quinn.I'll try to read a story by each of them this month.Which is crazy since I already have a big TBR . Can but try.....

Frugal living has been pushed to the side a little lately. The Ninja Turles Savers would not approve.Mr Dusty was annoyed when I forgot to order his Weetabix in my weekly shop, and I had to buy at the corner shop. A whopping £3.75
Well,Asd@ had an offer of 2 packs for £4 ,so I was a little redeemed. Would have got their own brand, but were out of stock, would have saved a lot more.
Watching morning news about more huge petrol prices, and that it could cost £100 to fill the family car. saw that in Eu some countries were reducing fuel tax by 15p. Our 5p looks a bit pathetic in comparison.

What a long frustrating day waiting in vain for a call from the hospital.Whats the use of being put on a so called fast track, jump the NHS queue for rapid action if you cant even get to first base?Already 9 days are gone, and a weekend coming up which is dead space really.I've been very distracted. While preparing Mr Dusty's lunch - lamb - I was also trying to make myself a corned beef and potato plate pie.I rolled out the pastry, and had parboiled the potatoes, sliced the onions. Mr Dusty kept calling me to come and see something or other on the telly. Finally returned and put the pastry lid on top and in the oven. When it was almost ready it dawned on me that I hadnt put the corned beef on top of the potatoes and onions. It was sitting there on another bench.Anyone remember that old novelty song from the 60sThey're coming to take me away,
Haha, they're coming to take me away,
Ho ho, hee hee, ha ha,
To the funny farm
Where Life is Beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those Nice Young Men
In their Clean White Coats
And they're coming to take me AWAY,
HA HAAAAADidnt know whether to laugh or cry,but decided to laugh and went in to Mr Dusty and his stupid programme that had causedthe snafu pulling my hair and looking wildeyed and singing that song.He really stared at me oddly, dont think he knew the song!Well I just cut open the top of the pie, shovelled in the corned beef and waited a couple of minutes for it to heat or soften. Wasnt too bad eitherYou know,i am always waiting for that peace and serenity for a calm, pleasant old kind of life. Never comes folks, never comes.....

It came to mind that last week was the 10th anniversary of posting for the first time on the Worlds Without End SF,Fantasy and Horror website,so I popped it to see what was happening, and I shouldnt have, because there was a new book challenge. Author Mercedes Lackey has been made this year's Grand Master, and one of our group posted a challenge to read some of her books this month. Couldnt resist,of course,I have read so many of her books I have enjoyed. So I have put myself down for the smallest number of titles, two. Will have to give up on sleep if I am to read all the books on my TBR. Its about 15 I think. In the past that would be simple, but between my rotten eyes and my very odd mental state I'll be lucky to read 8 of them at most.9 days of the month gone, and I've only finished three. So why am I continually adding more?....Oh listen! There's that song again. They're coming to take me away aha!3

My friend has been on metformin for a while.Found me? Was I missing? Wouldnt be surprised considering the state of my brain......So far I am OK with the metformin. They have started me off gently. Week 1 - one tablet with breakfast. As of yesterday, one pill breakfast and supper. Week 3 will be 2 on morning,1 in evening.Week 4 2 at breakfast and supper. They are very anxious that my HbA1c result was a huge 103,so they are anxious to get it down as soon as possible.Oddly enough I dont show any typical diabetic symptoms,no fainting or sweats etc.. Thyroid symptoms and anaemia yup. Many and varied, but diabetes no. Go figure!
