    Personally I would start looking at other properties. Communicate with your vendor that unless they have an offer accepted in the next few weeks the deal is off. 

    It is only fair that you communicate with your buyer what is happening. That way, they can make an educated decision whether to proceed or whether to pull out. 

    There must have been a reason why you wanted to move in the first place? Does that reason remain valid?

    I'm sorry to hear that.
    Why do you want to move / do you have to move?
    Is moving essential or desirable?
    You need to ask yourselves these questions before you decide to look again.
    Only remortgage if you get a better deal / current deal is due to end shortly. Don't do it to release money unless the property needs the work.
