Escooter blocking drive

Woke up this morning to find an Escooter dumped on the drive
I thought that they had GPS trackers on them - to allow the company to tell where they were and to charge the renter, until they were returned to a proper parking spot ?
They annoy the hell out of me anyway !
If someone had dumped a car / motor vehicle, on the drive - it would have been reported to the council
"Currently there is no regulatory framework specifically for
e-scooters, so they tend to fall within the legal definition of a “motor
vehicle” as they have an electric motor.
The Road Traffic Act 1988 defines a motor vehicle as “any
mechanically propelled vehicle intended or adapted for use on roads”.
This covers a variety of personal transport devices which are
mechanically propelled:"
So - should I report this escooter to the council ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Why the council, is it their property?MouldyOldDough said:Woke up this morning to find an Escooter dumped on the driveI thought that they had GPS trackers on them - to allow the company to tell where they were and to charge the renter, until they were returned to a proper parking spot ?They annoy the hell out of me anyway !If someone had dumped a car / motor vehicle, on the drive - it would have been reported to the council"Currently there is no regulatory framework specifically for e-scooters, so they tend to fall within the legal definition of a “motor vehicle” as they have an electric motor. The Road Traffic Act 1988 defines a motor vehicle as “any mechanically propelled vehicle intended or adapted for use on roads”. If someone had dumped a car / motor vehicle, on the drive - it would have been reported to the councilAnd they would have done nothing about it:
Is it illegal for someone else to park on your driveway? | RAC Drive
Someone parking on your drive commits trespass. This is a civil matter. The police and local authorities have no powers to remove a vehicle parked without permission on your drive. Damage the car deliberately and you commit criminal damage. There was an article in the press a few weeks ago where somebody had parked their car on a stranger's drive near Manchester airport and went away for a few days:
Stranger leaves car on family's driveway near Manchester Airport for DAYS - Mirror Online
Just shift the thing out your way and move on.1 -
All a bit OTT just simply move it onto the pavement. No need to come on the internet to kick up a storm over nothing is there12

If you sold it, that would make it theft as you would be depriving the rightful owner of the ownership of it.MouldyOldDough said:Alanp said:Tell them you’ll sell it on eBay, I bet they will soon be round to collect it…How much do you reckon I'd get for it ?Any idea how to remove the tracker from it ?0
