Well, you lost one, you add one. The number remains the same.If you switched to a new NW account, switch it.0

I didn't switch to a new NW account I switched to an existing one I had so that overall I had one less account.Well, you lost one, you add one. The number remains the same.If you switched to a new NW account, switch it.

I have just been on NW chat and discovered I hadn't actually had a 'switching' bonus before from NW, I had £100 when I was referred by a friend in 2020 without switching just opening an account. .However the chat person said this still disqualified me from the current £125 offer :"As you received an incentive for opening an account with us you are not eligible for the current offer, it
states in the terms this is not available if you have had a previous offer from us for a current account opening"

To get the RAF offer the referred friend had to switch their 'main account' to Nationwide.
But this is your argument:
You're ineligible if
10 (last bullet) "You’ve previously benefitted from this offer, as set out in clause 4"
The 2020 RAF is NOT this offer. So even if you did switch in the 2020 RAF, it doesn't exclude you.

I hadn't realised that, It's the impression I was given in the chat that I hadn't, I couldn't remember any switch involved myself and I can't see my account info that far back to check one way or the other

You can go back that far: Log in, & select acc you want to history on/ look to the left : Statements/ previous statements/ select year (next to 'view' button)/ view.
Mine goes back to RAF £100 transfer in 2019.
And I got the latest switch offer.
Stick to 'the RAF is NOT this offer' argument.
If you are certain you qualified on all other criteria, you'll get the bonus and compensation.

Switch the nationwide account to another provider for money?kuepper said:
yes, I don't want to, I'm trying to reduce the no. of accounts I have not add to them
That reduces the number of accounts further, which achieves your goal.
If the agent had told you that you wouldn't be eligible, then I assume you would have closed it anyway.

I'm very happy with Nationwide, I like the fact it's a mutual and I use their regular saver so don't want to switch from it besides switching elsewhere would not reduce the number of accounts I have.

Well I've lost a bank account I could have switched elsewhere and got a switch bonus
As switching hasn't cost anything, I'm not sure what loss you have suffered by not receiving the correct information about the switch bonus. Certainly it's not the actual switch bonus.
Can't you switch your new Nationwide account?
