For us the breakeven point is about a 38% rise in October - that's accounting for the 4 months or so before the rise and the fact that we have quite uneven seasonal consumption (e.g. storage heaters in loft conversion and an electric shower that has to be turned up quite a lot in the winter). My calculation also assumed that the SVT will remain unchanged in April (if the predicted drop arrives, then the breakeven point would be higher).

Unfortunately, there are now no clear cut decisions...

Received fixed offer Exclusive May 23v1 today from BG for electric - Standing charge:55.376p per day, Unit rate:32.186p per kWh with £75 exit fee.

So about 17% increase in unit rate.

    Not tempted yet.

I received an email on 13 May titled "Exclusive May 23v1". The DirDebit Electricity rates are substantially lower than what you are quoting this

    Standing charge:
    38.990p per day

    Unit rate:
    34.460p per kWh

    with the £75 exit fee.

They also used a vastly incorrect personal projection for me of 700kWh / year. Not that this affects the rates offered. I use about 7x this.
