Moved house & companies are not offering energy quotes what do I do?!

Hi all,

I have just moved into a new property and I have gone to look for some energy quotes however lots of the usual cheaper companies are not offering any quotes as they say "this is a bad time to switch" however I am not trying to switch I literally need a new contract somewhere for my new property. Does anyone have any advice?

You already have a contract with the existing supplier, you just have to register with them and make sure they leave you on the Standard Variable Tariff, so that will probably take a phone call....

If you really want to switch you can do that, but only after you have registered with the existing supplier and only if you can find another supplier willing to take you (EDF/Octopus perhaps)

You have to sign up with the existing supplier(s): you are already on their deemed Standard Variable Tariff.  Don't accept any fixed offer right now, just give them your bank details and meter readings.  Don't let anyone else take the readings for you, make sure you do it yourself.
