Barclaycard owe me £749.45 for incorrect charges and have still not reimbursed.....please help

OK. So I got a letter on the 10th March from Barclaycard to say that they overcharged me on a now defunct card ( no longer have a credit card )to the tune of £749.45. I went on line and submitted my information as they requested, and waited. They initially stated wait 30 days, then 40, now 50. After 30 days, I phoned them up and after a mammoth wait got through to an individual who told me it will be in the bank on May 3rd. As of today, despite umpteen calls on a line which never gets answered ( continuously on hold ), there is nothing. The letter has an address but no email address only the number ( 0800 634 3893 ). I don't know what to do and as you can imagine, it is a lot of money which will be useful. Any advice please????

     Any advice please?
Write a snail mail letter of complaint to that address.
