Depends on the room, if bills are included or extra and the length of time you are committed to. Why not just look on one of the sites for finding rooms to rent and see what the average sort of price is?

I would expect you could find a small, grotty single room in those areas for £500, and a nice, spacious double for £700-£800.  Actually those figures apply for much of zone 2.

It seems to me after looking at . Spareroom.co.uk . that single rooms are almost impossible to find in those areas

All single rooms have probably been turned into double rooms to get extra money for the room

More likely that people are really stretching the definition of a double room.

Saw a flat once in zone 2 London where the "lounge" was barely more than a turn in the hallway, the 2 seater sofa couldn't fully fit in the space as both sides were wedged against the walls and the feet on one side 1-2cm above the floor. On the plus side no issues with losing the remote for the TV as you could just lean forward a little and operate the buttons on the TV

"Double room" doesn't mean "contains a double bed", though.   It means it's above a certain size.

At the cheaper end of the market there are also what they call "twin rooms".  Which is a nicely sized double room but with two single beds in it!  So two strangers share the room, both paying £400-£500 each!

SpareRoom could do a lot to shut down this practice by prohibiting such adverts.  But they choose not to do so...
