British Gas Direct Debit Calculation

I would like to understand how British Gas calculate the monthly direct debit. I have just (end April) been given my new monthly figure for the year ahead. I am on a fix until end July so I realise the calculation will have involved usage and a combination of the fixed tariff and the capped tariff from 1 August.  But do British Gas also build in any extra element for the further increase in the cap expected in the autumn?  Or can I expect another major uplift when the autumn cap is decided?

I wouldn't expect BG to pad their estimate at this stage. You can expect a further increase when they next review your DD (most likely in 6 months).

I doubt that anybody knows how they calculate their direct debit estimates, maybe not even they do.
