Manchester Airport Pick Up

I have a had a search for this question but didn't find a definite answer. I am picking a mate up from Terminal 2 at Manc Airport, the plan is for him to text me when he is at the terminal doors and I will drive to the layby outside the doors and just stop for a minute. Is this still possible or do I have to park in the car park? Thanks for any help.

you might be able to drive in and stop at the drop off area if your friend walks up to there - otherwise there's no such thing as free parking, even for a minute at manchester anymore!:happyhear0

You should be ok picking up from arrivals at T2.
I have done this a few times recently and not had a problem. Just make sure you take the correct turn off for arrivals at the roundabout ( go up a level) and don't go into the car park. You will see other cars and taxis pulling in.
As long as you don't hang around you'll be fine. The worst thing that may happen is you get moved on.0
