1p Mobile Talker chargeable calls clarification

I'm considering the 1p Mobile 'Talker' deal at £36 for the first year and one of the terms is;

"Any chargeable calls or texts you make, and any additional data you use, will be deducted from your credit. Thereafter, to ensure you can always use your phone for out of bundle calls and texts when you want to, we will automatically top-up your usage balance with an additional £10 (charged to your card) whenever your balance falls below £2."

Am I right to assume the £36 deal factors in chargeable calls and is considered to be the credit? I have no intention of making any, but sometimes get caught out and wouldn't want to incur a £10 additional charge.

If I've understood your question correctly then no, you are not right. I think the previous paragraph on 1p's website makes it clearer:

"If you wish to make calls or send texts to non UK landlines or mobiles, you will need to add credit to your account by topping-up. The same applies for any addional (sic) data, or you can buy a data boost."

In other words your £36 buys you 12 months of "standard" UK calls/texts. A single premium text or call to an 09 or overseas number is extra and will require you to have a credit balance (not the £36 already spent). This would trigger the auto top-up.

Best to double check w/ 1p just to be safe.
