Hello all
hope someone can help answer this question! how long after receiving redundancy pay do you have to complain to employer if you disagree with amount paid? my son was made redundant after being on furlough, his furlough money was based on his earnings for 12 weeks before going on furlough but redundancy pay was based on his contracted hours but he always did extra to cover holidays etc. he says it is not worth asking as he cannot seem to get straight answer from employer as to how they worked out redundancy but i think he has been underpaid!

From memory if the overtime is stipulated in his contract & that he would get paid for it then it should be included in the calculation.

If he did the overtime of his own accord then it isn't taken into the calculation.

Redundancy is normally calculated on the 12 week period prior. If on furlough they must be topped up to 100% of pay.
