Again on BBC "Rip off Britain" today ........ the in house legal spoke about the new parking code of practice.
To the regulars on here, nothing was new but as this was on national TV we hope more people will understand the scam.
We know that the new code is the law albiet it is yet to be enacted.
The advice given (as we know) is to refer to the code and especially the fake add-ons that debt collectors and the dodgy legals apply. NOW BANNED
It was said that Government expects the parking industry to follow the spirit of the law ?
Now, there is no point in saying this to debt collectors such as DRP, ZZPS, TRACE or any other odd bod chancer because we all know they are a useless bunch of money scammers ......
When it comes to the legals who try on this debt collecton fake add-ons and subsequent "letters before claim" ..... why are they not following the spirit of the law. This could be the same question TO the SRA when a complaint is made ?
I would imagaine, if they are brave enough to answer, it will be a mixture of rotten eggs and fabrications.
And if they issue court claims that include the banned fakes and sign a statement of truth, a judge may care to ask them ... why are they not following the spirit of the law
The only thing said in the programme that was not helpful is to complain to the ATA's ?
Maybe the BBC do not realise the fuss both the BPA and IPC has kicked up about getting rid of he scam add-on which they want to keep

Thanks. I watched the last one as per usual for this dreadful programme it was as weak as dishwater!
It was also appalling that the couple who were victims saw nothing wrong with the fact they paid an extortionate £160 to Gladstones for the minutes it took the wife four years ago, to drop off a charity donation.
What a stupid. panicked and uninformed thing to do just because you get a LBC - and the programme didn't even tell viewers NOT to pay the likes of Gladstones and that these cases are appealable or winnable in court.
And of course despite talking to Gladstones the so-called researchers didn't have the nous to find Gladstones' public record of SRA sanctions, which directly relate to the subject matter!
But as a positive, it is a good thing if a few more older people watching daytime TV see it and learn something.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I know coupon but that is the problem, ignorance on behalf of the public and broadcasters alike
Given the statement Gladstones made as to the reason, I think the SRA should re-open their investigation because this will not be a "one off" and does tie in with the SRA ruling and findings
It really needs a media editor, someone like the reporter that exposed partygate2 -
Bet the prog hasn't reported that the owner of Gladstones is involved in IPA either, has it?? ("Independent"). That's quite a revelation most would be interested in. Corruption of the highest order if it's true. Makes me sick.0

Once upon a time, there were two solicitors.
One was an old family business and the other .. well let's just say he had just come out of court ?
The family business solicitor took him on and the bottom line is they convinced a very stupid Transport Secretary that they were suitable to become an ATA
From this the great Gladstones / IPC/ IAS scam was born
The idea was to reject the majority of appeals from motorists and then Gladstones would take over and sue them.
Not only were the courts sucked into the scam, so were government
The famed Parking Prankster exposed the scam and all of a suden the family solicitor split from the other fella
The IAS, that's the other fella, allows about 4% of appeals and the family bod takes over
This is the story of one of the biggest scams since POFA2012 was invented
It is fair to say that the new appeals service will scupper the IAS as with POPLA
Do the SRA know about all of this ?? I suspect so.
All this needs is a young up and coming journo to dig deep
And did you know the BPA did the same when they could not afford to pay London councils who at the time were POPLA ..... they introduced another solicitor called Wright Hassall as POPLA, now known as WHOPLA. Same thing, Wright Hassall rejected appeals and then sued motorists ?
Who knows how much money was stolen but it will be more than the Great Train Robbery
This story must be told and there are many on here who will join in
