Hi
I was on UC with LWCRA during this time DWP have not notified HMRC and therefore my NI is not up to date.
I've been on the phone to HMRC many times & they insist they need official notification from DWP to update my NI.
Additionally I've been on to the DWP & they insist they don't have to pay it??? Yet I had earlier confirmation months before off them that They do pay it.
My research off the net suggests that the DWP are at fault.
Any information would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

You seem to be under a couple of misapprehensions.I've been on the phone to HMRC many times & they insist they need official notification from DWP to update my NI.
Do you really think HMRC would accept a phone call from you without details from DWP?

Irrespective of the above you are likely to be entitled to National Insurance credits in relation to your UC claim.
This is a known issue widely reported on here where DWP are taking a long time to advise HMRC about people who are due NI credits.

General advice if DWP are not correctly notifying HMRC of your NI credits is to involve your MP.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Make sure you keep a good record of when you were claiming UC, so that if the DWP don't advise HMRC correctly, you can get the problem corrected. Unless you are within three years of claiming your state pension, I wouldn't bother complain to the DWP or your MP, (it should get sorted out within the next year or so) but if you are within that timescale, then complain in writing to the DWP and complain my email to your MP.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

I never expected HMRC to do it on my call, I was gathering info to pass to UC.
My next course is to my MP.

Dazed and confused.......
You mis understood my comments, I never obviously expected them too, the point I was making was HMRC NEED CONFORMATION off UC to trigger NI credits that's why HMRC have not actioned it.

Andrew007007: You are not alone, I have been on UC + LCWRA for three years now and still no Class 3 NI credits. this dispite the UC gov page stating this should happen automatically. That said it doesn't say how long it will take. Having chased over 1 dozen times the response is now that the credits will be applied a few months before SPA ... I am 54 y/o. I did read on here that someone managed to get redress in a matter of a month or so having raised the matter with their MP.0
