Composite door and side panel

Hi all, long story short we purchased a black composite front door and side panel in October 2021. When it arrived in December the glass panel in the door was on the wrong side and the thumb turn wasn’t finished ie. Slide in and out.
They supplied a new door in February 2022 but the door was gloss not Matt therefore did not match the frame or side panel.
They now in May are saying it was our builders fault! and have offered to come out and re spray both to match.

Am I wrong to expect a new door and frame, we spent nearly £2,000?

Why are they saying it’s the builders fault? Did he order the wrong type?0

I think you will have to tell the longer story, so we have more detail. Who purchased the door, you or your builder on your behalf? Who specified the type, colour, dimensions, etc? Was it a supply and fit contract or just supply?0

Our builder purchased the door on our behalf, supply only. It arrived damaged i.e you could see white through the black paint particularly around the glass panel in the door. They had also manufactured with the glass pane to the left of the door not right hand side as ordered.
By now my builder has moved onto other jobs, they accepted responsibility (the builder had ordered as per our specification) and agreed to provide correct door. New door arrived but it was gloss not Matt as ordered and now does not match the frame or glass side panel.0 -
Then your dispute is with your builder. You have no consumer rights with the retailer because their contract is with the builder, and they don't need to deal with you if they don't want to. You need to pursue the builder for a resolution.0
