Hi Guys - just after some advice please regarding Mobile Phone Upgrades.... (it all seems to have changed now and after going instore they explained about 2 separate payments, one for the handset and one for the tariff - it began to sound confusing).
I'm with Vodafone, I currently have the I-phone XR and have had this for a little over 3 years - it works fine although the battery isn't as great as when it was new.
Originally it was in contract, but after 2 years the contract was completed so I then reduced my monthly payments as I was eligible to drop onto a sim only deal.... which i have remained on to date.
So I currently own the i-phone XR and I pay £23 a month for the Sim only deal which I have - I get 120gb data, unlimited calls and texts for £23 a month (no idea if this is good or not)...... the original deal was meant to be 20gb but there was a promotion on offering an extra 100gb data each month - this Sim only contract is locked in til February 2023, but Vodafone have said if i want to move back onto a new contract deal with a new handset there will be no extra charges - alternatively I could leave Vodafone but would have to pay up the remainder of the sim only tariff which would be approx £180.
Please can anyone tell me what are my best options to get an i-phone 13 on a new tariff with Vodafone ???
I have seen the website and it seems straight forwards in that you can build your own plan together - but I was wondering is there things you should look to avoid?
Personally i've always had contracts over 24 months, but it seems they want to offer you 36 months these days - also it used to be better value to get a "slightly new" phone as opposed to brand new as you could make good savings.
Any help/advice/ what to avoid, would be appreciated, including whats the best thing to do with iphone XR once i get an iphone 13 - sell it on ebay?
I could also obviously just remain paying £23 a month and keep my iphone XR, but after 3 years of having it, i'm interesting in having a new handset.
Thank You

In general its rare i ever go over 20gb of data0 -
Almost always the best deal is to buy the iPhone outright, or with 0% finance direct from Apple and then get a SIM only contract.1

Definitely buy the iPhone outright (or with Apple finance) and simply put your existing Vodafone sim into it for now.
You can look for a good sim only deal in February next year.1
