That's a great question, and not entirely trivial to answer. When I calculate the 'savings' for the ROI on the solar panels I count the car charging at 5p per kWh, but that's arguably double counting if I'm also counting it as zero cost milage.Grumpy_chap said:

However, while roughly 30% of my charging comes from solar, I anticipate that the solar panels will entirely pay for themselves out of FIT payments over their lifetime. So any self consumption will essentially be free.0
