Cancelled credit card and re-applied

Hi, I recently applied for a Tesco Bank balance transfer credit card, and was approved. However when I tried to add my current credit card that I want to transfer the balance of, it kept producing an error and would not allow me to add the card. I did not want to proceed with getting this new credit card if I wasn't going to be able to transfer the balance, so I cancelled the application, after the credit check. I'll admit it was probably a bit hasty of me to do that and I should have thought about it more clearly. I tried to apply for the same card again the next day and was rejected, I'm assuming because I applied so recently.
I have an excellent credit score according to Experian, I'm wondering will I have to wait a full 6 months to re-apply or is it possible another bank may approve my application sooner?

Might be better to give them ring to see what they say.Life in the slow lane0

You don't have an excellent score as nobody has a credit score, the number you see is a gimmick and is never seen by lenders
Applying, cancelling and re-applying has probably triggered a fraud check by Tesco hence the refusal. It'd be worth ringing and seeing if they can reinstate it.
For reference, I have never seen a BT card where you can only transfer a balance during the initial application, normally they give you anything from 1-3 months to do transfers so you could get the card and do the transfer later0 -
Thanks for the replies, I rang them and they were able to reinstate the original application, and I will be able to balance transfer once I receive the card.0
