APCOA PCN Heathrow drop off

Background:

I recently dropped off family at Terminal 5.  I did not realize I could not pay on site, and then I assumed I would receive a £5 bill which I would pay when I got the bill.  Instead I received a £40/£80 PCN instead.

I came on here and read what I could find.

I copied and submitted the blue text from the NEWBIES thread (and declined to name the driver), so hopefully that works.

If not, I have the POPLA wordage loaded into a PDF and ready to go.

I did come across some threads of people saying APCOA rejected their appeal but failed to notify them and failed to give them a POPLA number for further appeal - is there any way to head off that type of scenario before it materializes?

Grateful for this forum, and I hope it can help me save some money.  Lord knows I need it!
