Concrete pad Quote

Options
I've just received a quote for a 10mx 3m concrete pad in our garden for £3000 is this good? It requires no removal of bushes or material as i have cleared this already only for some sub base to be applied then the concrete form to be created and poured. he has also included two days labour in the quote however i assume it will be done in one day as it is not that big a pour of concrete.

Does the site need to be excavated so that the sub-base can be laid, or is the sub-base to be laid on top of the earth that is already there? You would also exect some shuttering to need to be installed, and concrete needs to be properly cured, which might involve a brief visit the day after it is poured.

Who is supplying the sub-base material?
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

i will be doing the sub base myself as its only £60 for a bag with a wacker plate hire of £35 so would rather get this cheaper part done myself literally all they will have to do is frame up and do the pour

You will need considerably more than just one (bulk) bag of MOT1/hardcore. Assuming a 100mm thick sub-base, you'll need around 6.3 tonnes - For that sort of quantity, a loose load would work out cheaper if you have somewhere it can be tipped.
From memory, I think I payed about £10 per tonne for a load of crushed brick/concrete (often sold as "crusher run") when I did my driveway last year.

Use the Paving Expert calculator to estimate quantities - I've found the numbers to be pretty close.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
