You are correct, there is a 30£ compensation in general, plus another £30 if it takes longer than 20 days.

Update -  as EDF were unable to get Scotish Power to admit this was a case of ET so I had to try to deal with S Power direct. I have finally managed to hack my way through SP's phone menus by entering rubbish data and the operator gave me contact details for their ET team. A very helpful guy on that no (see below) was then able to confirm that this was indeed an error. My supply will now be returned to EDF within 20 days - why 20 more days for something as simple as this should be who knows.

Just to be clear EDF were not at fault for this, they have tried several times to get my account back from Scottish Power who  repeatedly refused, claiming to have a valid contract. Might be a good idea if someone could compile a list of ET contact numbers and emails for all companies still in the game. Getting hold of the above details was not easy.
