Render Repair

Hi, outside our back door there's a broken patch of the rendering, been like it for ages. I want to get it fixed before giving the render a coat of paint:

Do you think this on Amazon would be the right product to use? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01D8FRGMI/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_QXVBWR18B4EYCX0G9YGQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
For info, the render is on a breeze/concrete block extension built in 2010.
Many thanks!

For virtually the same amount, you can get a 25Kg bag...
Chip off the damaged & loose bits. Open the crack up with a grinder (use a diamond wheel) or a multitool with a carbide blade. Mix a small quantity of render to fill the crack with and let it dry for 24 hours. Build up the missing areas using two coats. Leave for a week to dry & harden, then paint.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Thanks FreeBear for the tips and for the links! I'll give it a go! Just wanted to make sure I was looking at the right product(s).0

Wet the blocks down a bit first. Are they concrete or AAC blocks?
Does it sound hollow around that crack?0 -
I don't know the type of blocks, the extension was built by the previous owners. I know they're definitely blocks though. No, it doesn't sound hollow I don't think.stuart45 said:Wet the blocks down a bit first. Are they concrete or AAC blocks?
