Renewling Passport but also Need to Change Name

I need to renew a passport but also change a surname on it.

Can I do this in one fell swoop?

Yes when you change your name you have to get a new passport anyway. https://www.gov.uk/changing-passport-information

Yes you can, I have just renewed mine and changed my maiden name to married name on the application. No idea how long it’ll take to come through mind you.

If you are changing your name through marriage all you need to send is your old passport and your marriage certificate. If it’s other than marriage you will need you change of name deed or statutory declaration and evidence that you use that name for all purposes. Eg driving licence.

No, you don't.

The good lady has had her maiden name on her passport for the last 7 years - we saw no need to change and spend extra money.  Just make sure when booking a flight, you use the name on the passport.
