Credit balance from closed Utility Point account
Hello
I wonder if anyone has been in the same situation, who may be able to provide some clarification?
I help a neighbour with her energy accounts. She moved from Utility Point to Neon Reef for electric and Zog for gas on the 1st September 2021. Utility Point then went into administration on the 17th September. At some point after this she received a closing bill for Utility Point which resulted in a healthy credit. An email from Utility Point stated that credit balances for ex-UP customers will also transfer to EDF, and if you do not have an account with EDF, EDF will send you a cheque. As her gas is now with EDF due to Zog also going into administration, we didn't consider this to be a problem and have waited patiently for the credit to appear.
Just speaking via online chat with EDF who said that they aren't receiving credits for customers who left UP prior to them going into administration. I stated what the UP email stated and he said he'll escalate and get back to us.
Anyone else in the same position.
