Bank accounts that offer chequebooks

I am in a bit of a conundrum. I need a bank account that offers me a cheque book as there is some things I will need to do soon that require cheques, but my credit score is bad, as I am paying off my debts. Any bank that offers accounts with chequebooks in my conditions? I cannot use NatWest.

I have accounts in chase, starling, monzo and revolut but as far as I am aware none of those offer chequebooks.

Thanks!

Many companies will accept BACS payments - in many ways they are easier to process than cheques for a business. It may be worth asking if that would be an option then you could use your existing accounts.

I'm pretty sure that requirement was dropped, I would ask that question on the Debt Free Wanabee board where someone will know for sure.

Why not use postal orders? Your creditors won’t get your signature either if you send postal orders.

That requirement was dropped a few years ago.

FYI Nationwide, Lloyds and First Direct issue chequebooks
  • Thanks. Do I just enclose 1 pound on the letter? That seems a bit dodgy

    I didn't even send them a penny.

Just send your letters, second class with proof of postage obtained from the PO; keep a copy of the letter, even if it's a photo on your phone and emailed to yourself.
