Morning
Yeah its my favourite day of the week. Sloth Sunday. Been a tough week so looking forward to ignoring the world and chillin. Pjs on and some dross tv lined up
Managed to sort a lot of the kitchen yesterday just a bit left to do tomorrow. Caught up with Masterchef and was very pleased with the result, one of the contestants was really getting under my skin at the end so good result for me!
Grabbed some pork and crackling out the freezer for dinner so will do some spuds and veg and have the full malarky later.
Been going through the Bero books and there really are some gems in there and lots of memories. First on my list to make is rock buns which mum made all the time, then there’s mums “People coming round” cheesecake which is gorgeous (if I remember rightly) but really simple. She wasn’t the best cook that’s for sure but bero and Family Circle magazine recipes carefully cut out and covered with cling film obviously saved her I’m grateful to have them here for the memories now.
Have a lovely Sunday all

Good morning
Thanks for starting Nelski, sounds like you've had a lovely trip down memory lane😊
I had a rotten night's sleep 😴 and have been up since 4.30am 🥱 I've finished reading a book, prepped Sunday dinner, done the ironing and packed all the clothes, it's just the bits and bobs that I'm still using to go in now 😊
It looks like another beautiful day, I've got the bedding to wash, I don't like to put the machine on too early as it's in a shed outside. Then as usual I've got stuff to do in the garden and I may go for a walk.
Have a good day 🌻10 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Nelski, you deserve a day chilling in your PJs.
Dry this morning, the bedding is doing it's thing in the WM, hopefully it will dry outside today. I'm off for a dip in the loch, should be warming up a bit now although I'll still be frozen when I come out!
I went up to see DS1 and the DGC yesterday, long drive there and back but worth it. We went for a lovely walk around the fields, saw a deer too that went bounding across the field right in front of us. It was a bit showery but I managed a bounce on the trampoline with DGS.
Sorry to hear you lost your lovely Miss M Maddie, it certainly leaves a big hole in your heart.
Good news re your new client Ruby.
Shopping and gardening on the agenda for today although the shopping could wait a couple of days (I'm talking myself out of going!).
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX12 -
Morning all looks like it will be a nice day so will get some washing on have been busy as the painter was here yesterday so everything out of the bedroom and kitchen for painting mostly all back now so i took the opportunity to have a little sort out . I also managed to sell my old patio furniture its a good set cast aluminium so can be left outside it was expensive over 20 years ago but as its a 4 it is no longer practical as we are now 7 without the impending arrival.
I have been scouring eBay for maternity clothes for DD2 and managed to bag some jeans and shorts for very little as she is now half way through it seems silly to spend large amounts on clothing for a short period of time. I still haven't bought anything for the bump i will wait till she makes a list and after the baby shower
Nelski It sounds as though mum is settling well at the home take the house sort out slowly some of the best things are the most inexpensive as the memories they invoke are priceless x
Hugs to all our poorlies those looking after loved ones and anyone else who needs one . Have a great day xSlava Ukraini13 -
Good morning, I typed a post immediately after Nelski, pressed send and it seems to have been eaten by the gremlins, so will just wish everyone a good Sunday. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)10

Morning folks and thanks NELS - happy PJ day. I still use my trusty old Be-Ro book circa 1972 from when I got married and it's been in use ever since. Other baking books have come and gone over the years but the dog-eared old Be-Ro book comes out regularly.
The sun WAS out earlier but once again it's gone behind light cloud and forecast to remain there until late afternoon. It's doing that too regularly these days.
The freezer tidying didn't happen yesterday. I opened the door of the taller one and shut it again in despair. Everything is supposed to live in an allocated drawer (with the overflow in the smaller freezer) but stuff ends up shoved wherever there is a bit of space. I will try again today!
I grabbed some chilli out for tea yesterday and a shepherds pie base yet to top for today's lunch. Will prep some veg shortly. I have an abundance of carrots so plan on making a pan of carrot and swede mash and freezing most of it portioned up. I'm down to my last one. Well the inventory says that anyway!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and fed up. Thinking of MADDIE. NRA nice to see you briefly yesterday. Brr CAMELOT a dip in a freezing cold loch doesn't sound very tempting to me. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -

Morning.Yesterday was fairly productive, I collected my meds and bought a couple of things from the hardware shop including sunflower hearts as the country store didn't have any last week. Then I sorted out the two rose bushes at my front door which needed some TLC. The bed got stripped then remade with fresh bedding, old stuff was washed and hung out on the whirly where it soon dried. Later on I got the lawnmower out and cut the back garden grass, it always look so good when done. I've been resisting pulling up the dandelions so that the pollinators can feed but I really don't like them so getting rid of the flower heads was good even though I know they'll be back. 😵💫
Today will be another mystery. Thoughts to our poorlies. Happy Sunday to all.12 -
Morning everyone
I had the heart monitor put on on Friday afternoon and returned it yesterday afternoon - they said it can take up to 6 weeks for results to be sent to my doctor - pleased I didn't have to wait any longer to get it!
Looked after little one for a couple of hours yesterday morning - I took her down to mam and dads and then after lunch DD dropped me off in town. I went to see the new Downton Abbey movie and really enjoyed it - it was a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
I had a quick look in one of the charity shops on my way back up to the bus stop and got 2 lovely summer tops and a skirt for little one - all from M and S and look brand new.
After tea I had a nice sit out in the sun and read for a little while.
I've had a nice chat with eldest DD this morning and have my bedding in the washing machine - will get it hung outside before I go down to sit with dad while mam is at church.
I'm going to make some bolognaise sauce in the slow cooker so I can leave it cooking while I'm out - I'll make a big lasagne later. Will see if DD and little one want to come up for tea tonight.
Hopefully the sun will keep shining and I'll have a sit out with my Sunday paper later.
Maddiemay - so sorry to hear your news x
Bellabella - when DD was pregnant I bought her maternity clothes from Ebay - she never got to wear most of them as little one was born at just 30 weeks.
Well, hope everyone has a good day today. Take care x13 -
Morning all and thanks for the thread Nels – enjoy your restful day x
Bright and sunny here. Yesterday was cloudy until about 4pm then it was beautiful so DH and I weeded the front garden bed, potted up all the bedding plants and de-mossed the patio. It’s looking much tidier now. I lost 1.5lb at FC whoohoo, and decided that I would go back to regular running, so I was up at 7.30am today and did 3k. I was quite dehydrated, so had a little walk around the 2k mark and then continued. Will hopefully build it up again to 5k at some point.
DD’s car failed the pre-MOT check as the rear passenger door handle is broken so can only open from the inside. DH and DD fixed this yesterday afternoon, so they will take it back for noon today.
Plans for today include colouring my hair, more garden pottering and hoovering/steaming the floors. I also need to make a meal plan and shopping list for tomorrow after work – it’s all go!
Hugs to all the poorlies and have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Hello all, I didn't get on yesterday as we had the DGC here from Friday till yesterday then after they went home I just collapsed on the sofa 😂 We'd had a late night followed by an early morning 😮 Lots of food was consumed by both of them and "it would have been cheaper to keep their pictures on the wall" as my Nan would say, but then she'd had 9 children to feed through very tough times ! BTW I thought the new Batman film was awful, although DGS enjoyed it and watched it twice.
Today the sun can't really make up it's mind whether to come out or not, but no matter as I have no washing to be done. However I shall finally paint the patio table and also clean down the chairs ready for some paint. If I have enough energy I will paint them too. Firstly though I have to empty the dw and put the breakfast dishes in it. There's still some chicken left so I'll use that up for tea.
Maddie I was so sorry to read your sad news. Hugs.
Nels I'm glad you had a lovely visit with Mum.
Right better get on and start with emptying the dw as it's finished doing it's thing.
Have a lovely Sunday all
Take care all
