If there's one root veg I really cannot abide, its a parsnip. They taste and smell of ammonia IMHO.oystercatcher said:I love parsnip 'oven chips'.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -
It could be worth cutting out all the solanum family for a time. Re-introduce them one by one and see if that results in any symptoms, leaving potatoes to the end.southern_chick said:I wonder if anyone can help with ideas for alternatives to potatoes please!! After keeping track of my diet for quite a while I think I’ve got a potato intolerance so I’m planning on cutting them out completely for a while to see if things improve.

I like butternut squash chips and usually use the top part of the squash to make chips and use the bottom "bulbous" part to make a squash and chickpea curry.

Thank you. I’ve “doctor goggled” and peppers are something that I do eat quite a bit of so will definitely be worth cutting out as well. My symptoms have almost disappeared since I’ve stopped eating potatoes but not completely so that could explain it!! XxMojisola said:

Celeriac chips are great, or what about doing a tray roast of a selection of veg, to see which you like most? We do a mix of any of the following: cauliflower and broccoli florets, butternut squash chunks, sweet potato chips, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes (probably best if you avoid these for now though), swede and carrot chunks, all tossed in a little oil, seasoned, and roast on a large tray or in the airfryer.
Good quality Sumac is an amazing seasoning for roast veg but it's pricey so I only use it occasionally,2022. 2% MF challenge. £730/30001 -
How about polenta chips? I sometimes do those under the grill & serve them stacked like jenga blocks 😁
If you buy the pre-made block it is easier, but they are relatively easy to make with some forethought to ensure you have some made & left to go cold.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
