I wonder if anyone can help with ideas for alternatives to potatoes please!! After keeping track of my diet for quite a while I think I’ve got a potato intolerance so I’m planning on cutting them out completely for a while to see if things improve. I generally don’t eat a lot of potato products as I prefer rice and pasta so it isn’t a huge issue really but I do like chips and I’m struggling to think of what I can have instead of chips when I have things that typically come with them,  Steak and kidney pie, scampi that kind of thing!!  Any suggestions would be gratefully received 🥰🥰 xx

Sweet potatoes as they're not related to potatoes or butternut squash

I made this butter bean mash with some M*rks tinned ones not very long ago and it was both easy and tasty and I noted at the time that it would be a good alternative to mashed potato and could be used in things like fish cakes or bubble and squeak.

Sweet potatoes make great fries. As Brambling said, they are not related to potatoes. You might also check to see if you have problems with tomatoes - they are both part of the same plant family.

Cauliflower mash? Just started making it as trying to reduce carbs and I really like it. The recipe was in the "Fast Keto" book.

thanks tooldle I think I’ll be trying a few different root veggies to see how I get on. I like swede and carrot mash but have never had either in place of chips so I’m really grateful for any suggestions. I do like the sound of the courgette chips so I might start with those first!! Xx
