Corner base unit in kitchen.

What sort of internal fitment gives the best use and maximum space in a floor standing corner cabinet. Currently have a carousel type shelf thing but it seems to waste a lot of space. Looking for ideas to increase usable space in a renovation project.

Just found out that the current shelf is called a le mans storage unit. It's poor in my opinion.0

MIL put in an incredibly complicated rectangular basket system. All the rails and gubbins waste a load of space. I thought that anything that mechanically complex was bound to fail, but it's lasted quite well. I don't think it really uses the space any better than a simple carousel system.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?2 -

Although I'm not sure why your IKEA mugs are in the back corner? They need to be on a top shelf for easy access at all times. You never know when you will need a decent sized cup of tea.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -
Depending upon other consideration, hight and requirement for continuity of work top, I think this is the way forward:

We have a pull out system in our corner base unit and it really is a waste of space. I'm trying to work out how to remove it and replace it with a fixed, half depth shelf. The units all came pre-assembled so even the guy who installed the kitchen isn't sure how to get it out.

We had a carousel in the last version of our kitchen - total nightmare - especially when something slips below the bottom carousel, only to be found years later.....#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3662
