Unless they managed to get the foil behind the meter, all they have done is stop the radiation going out through the door of the meter box, but allowed it to go through the back of the meter box into the house.
If it sticks, force it.

Why does a picture of a meter (or turkey) under foil solve @JulesSheah missing gas meter. He has shown us his electric but remains unwilling to remove the panel - but perhaps today's the day to reveal all !wakeupalarm said:

No gas pipe in the panel in question in the other thread. It has been established that gas pipes cannot be inside the wall for safety reasons. Maybe he has turkey wrapped in foil in his panel as well.Robin9 said:
