I have made a mistake when trying to open my online Barclays Bank account [old age] and I am now locked out, what can I do to reset things?
Thanks for any assistance.

Get in touch with Barclays.
Have a look at https://www.barclays.co.uk/help/online-banking/login/problems/2 -
After searching it comes up with the info to go to a cashpoint and insert your card, does this have to be a Barclays cash point, if so I have a 1hr journey to make 2hrs in total.0

Any cashpoint may suffice.royP_2 said:After searching it comes up with the info to go to a cashpoint and insert your card, does this have to be a Barclays cash point, if so I have a 1hr journey to make 2hrs in total.
But...that's not a suggestion made on the page linked in 400isl's answer to you.
The best option on that page, it seems to me, is to ring them on the number quoted on the page. That might solve your problem completely, and if the cashpoint option is the answer you can ask them whether a non-Barclays one will do.0 -
From the comfort of your own home just contact Barclays.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

This happened to me with TSB
just call their internet banking helpline and they will sort it quick

royP_2, when you say you have locked yourself out of online banking, do you use the pinsentry device to log in? And did you put the wrong PIN number in that? If so then this is the only situation where going to a cashpoint will be a step to solve your problem, and no it doesn’t need to be a Barclays cash machine. What you’d need to do is unblock your pin.Easy way to check is if you put your card into the pinsentry device and press identify, if it says pin locked contact bank, you then have to go to any cash machine to unlock it. If it lets you enter your pin, then the issue you are having with your online banking is nothing to do with your card and pin and will be a waste of time going to a cash machine to try and sort it out2

Yes that is exactly what I have done, the message comes up on my pinsentry device.
Can go to a cash machine in our village with only pin number and reset things?
Would I need any further information?0 -
Yes you should be able to. When you put the card in the cash machine and put the correct PIN number in, there should be an option something like “pin services” then unlock pin. That will then unblock your card.royP_2 said:
