EDF have offered us a long term deal until 2024 of £208 per month but has an early exit fee of £300 as apposed to the normal £60 odd that Martin has mentioned in his videocast.
Is this still worth doing please?

Without knowing the deal details and standing charges and kWh prices on the fixed offer and your usage each year in kWh nobody can assess this for you.

A monthly DD is not a good way to judge any offering from an energy supplier.

No, they have offered you a tariff with fixed kWh and standing charge rates which they estimate will cost you £208 per month...
If their estimate is wrong the monthly DD will change, so check their estimate and see if you think it is reasonable as with a £300 exit fee it could get expensive...
