OPG investigation

Can anyone advise - I have had a letter from OPG saying that a distant family member is asking for an investigation into the affairs I am POA for her elderly aunt.
I have done all the care and looked after her aunt for over 10 years. A distant family member has come out of the woodwork and contacted OPG out of the blue.
There is a large file to submit. Would you recommend a solicitor to complete or just complete personally. I have nothing to hide and have not misappropriated any funds AT ALL.
Just some guidance on how to go through the process as painlessly as possible.

Just complete it yourself. You would need to provide all the answers to the solicitor in any case, so you'd only be paying them to copy down your answers.1

I feel sorry for you, you put in a lot of time and effort looking after them only for a relative who has not been around to poke their nose in.
I hope it goes well.
Im a 24 hour carer for my best friend, I’m lucky they take care of their own financial affairs.
But not seen a family member visit in 5 plus years.
We are in the process of getting an LPA.
I my self am on the opposite side of this equation to you.
My Mums partner got an LPA for my Mum even though she has had dementia for 10 years plus and would not know what she was signing. Not 2 years ago anyway.
Put her in a home and 80k could be missing.
We over to see my Mum after Christmas, it had been 5 weeks since last visit.
To find she was in a home and None of the family had been told.
I went straight to the home, without beating her partner with a lead pipe in the kitchen 🙈, I asked to visit my Mum.
The staff were confused as apparently she does not have 3 children.
Its not the fact she is in a home, It’s the best one in the county. She needs the care.
But as you can imagine I’ve not got any say in my Mums affairs or treatment.
Thats the issue.
So I have an open investigation with the OPG at this moment.
As a lot of underhanded things have gone on.
