CRL Warranty Help

Hi everyone
I can see a few threads on CRL warranties from a few years ago but none particularly of late
We are purchasing a property that does not have the well-known NHBC warranty but instead the CRL version - admittedly underwritten by CGICE and not alpha
CGICE are still an active company and there is no suggestion that this is likely to change anytime soon
I guess I was wondering what the latest feeling was on these CRL warranties and if anyone had any experience of buying/selling with these recently?
Don't really know what this all means but haven't read good things online. We are first time buyers so just want to make sure that we are not entering into a non-favourable situation.
Thanks!

As you probably realise, the warranty covers major structural defect in materials or workmanship for 10 years.
So I guess considerations include:- How much of the 10 years is left?
- What is the track record of the builder - have any other of their developments had major structural defect in materials or workmanship?
- Are there any signs of problems in the block/house that you're buying? (Maybe you should ask a building surveyor to inspect the block/house.)
An NHBC warranty provides a builders warranty for snagging for the first 2 years, but a CGICE warranty doesn't. So you'd probably be responsible for the cost of repairing any snags.
It seems that CGICE warranties might have less cover than NHBC warranties. It seems the roof of this block of flats wasn't covered by CGICE, but it might have been covered by NHBC : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6300622/new-build-flats-only-4-years-old-owners-charged-with-425-000-repairs-no-insurance/p1
Obviously, if you never have to make a claim, the warranty makes no difference - and major structural defect in materials or workmanship in buildings are rare. But the repair costs can be very high.
