Hi, I was granted a dro back in 2017 and included on that was a debt with the rbs , I received a letter from the rbs saying my account had been closed with a nil balance in early 2018 , I am now receiving calls messages and letters from capquest demanding payment , I rang them and tried to explain about the dro but they won't accept it and keep demanding money , any suggestions please

This happens quite often with DRO`s, you listed RBS as the creditor, but in the meantime they sold the debt to Capquest, who never got the official message.
It should be easy to deal with this, stay off the phone, no use telling call handlers anything, as they cannot process it, send a letter explaining you were in a DRO, enclose a copy of your arrangement, tell them that any further enquiries must be directed to the insolvency service, and you consider the matter closed.
Any further correspondence or demands for payment will be dealt with in the small claims court.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
