Front brake pads - replacement costs
Hi there.
Have not replaced brake pads for quite a while now..
I'd appreciate if someone could give me an idea of what garages (Merseyside, Southport) normally charge for replacing brake pads in 2022?
In my case I'm looking to replace just the set of front ones and I do provide my own pads.
Many thanks.

Ring them up and ask them? But unless your car is a particularly tricky one, front pads are a doddle. Probably half an hour's labour, certainly no more than an hour. Just bear in mind that some garages are (quite rightly) a bit hesitant about fitting parts that you supply, as they have no way of guaranteeing that they're suitable/safe/not defective in any way.Might be worth asking for a price for them to supply and fit. If they're an "honest" outfit, you might be surprised at the price. Certainly my local mechanic usually charges me less for parts that what I can buy them for myself - presumably he gets a trade discount.2

I was quoted £40 labour per wheel by my local independent. They are happy fitting customer supplied pads.1

Cost of pads plus £50 fitting.
Local Peugeot for me want £99 for fronts.
And I think that is a rip off.1
