Incorrect PCM stuck to my car, correct postal PCM followed

Nn 30/03/22 a PCN was stuck to my windscreen and upon opening found it was not for my car but another (different make, colour and number plate). Obviously there was nothing for me to do but I kept it just in case of any follow up. It was issued by Park Direct UK Ltd. So today I have received a postal PCN dated 03/05/22 with a photo of my car with dates and times.
As I did not actually receive a notice on my car for my car this is the first PCN I have received 35 days after the supposed offence. Does this mean that they did not serve the PCN within 14 days as the windscreen ticket is not valid for my car? Can I appeal on these grounds?
Thanks

Have a read of POFA 2012, it is linked in the NEWBIE sticky. If a NTD (windscreen ticket) has been issued, the timings are different but it only means they cannot hold the keeper liable for the actions of the driver. It is possible that whoever wrote out the NTD also did another one at the same time and stuck them on the wrong windscreens. Since you have received a NTK, the ticketing snurt must have taken note of your VRM in order to get your details from DVLA.3

Does this mean that they did not serve the PCN within 14 days as the windscreen ticket is not valid for my car? Can I appeal on these grounds?I'd give that a go - can be added to the template appeal from the NEWBIES thread - but NOT IMPLYING WHO WAS DRIVING.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you I have used the template and added a dispute to the claim a valid PCN was affixed to the windscreen.0

It is often thought that a parking operative will deliberately put incorrect information of a windscreen ticket in the hope someone will 'phone them up and blab about the driver's identity. Well done for not falling into the trap.
Always complain to the landowner first, and your MP.
If/when your initial appeal is rejected, then do an IAS appeal. Do not mention anything about an NTD being left on the car. In every contact you make, state that no NTD with your vehicle's VRM was left on the car, therefore the NTK arrived too late for keeper liability to apply.
Whatever you do, do not reveal or even hint at the driver's identity. Everything, including complaints, must come from the keeper.
