Hi, a relative has been chased at their address by resolvecall for one of their family members debts which is causing them stress does anyone have any experience of what type of debt this company usually buys and chases? Or do they chase all sorts?

It could potentially be anything, The family member will know, so best to direct it to them.
Your relative doesn't need to deal with it.0 -
Debts belong to people, not addresses. As it's not their debt, it's not their issue to sort. Your relative should simply tell resolvecall that the person they are after does not live at their address (I'm assuming this is the case, otherwise it might be slightly more complicated) and that any further attempted enforcement action will be seen as harassment and will be reported.0

If the family member used your relative's address for the application, it's logical that they would chase at that address. If they do live there, make sure the family member deals with it and be very careful if they get a CCJ as high court bailiffs can take possession of things which they'd have to prove were their assets. If they don't live there, that is fraud in the application. Either way your relative is not liable for the debt but they would be best telling Resolvecall where the person really lives if they are somewhere else0

Lots of post`s on the DFW forum about this company, and how to deal with them, I would suggest using the search facility on that forum.
They chase debts for a number of companies, one of their main clients is Arrow Global, who mainly buy up old credit card/loan/and mobile phone accounts, so although the debt in question could be anything, its more likely to be one of those three.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. ... unless it's a guarantor loan that the relative agreed to be the guarantor of for the family member.
Or if it's a fraudulently agreed guarantor loan, both could cause issues that the relative will need to deal with.0 -
That had crossed my mind so me and my wife checked land registry for her parents to make sure nothing had been put on the property and there were no charges registered and nothing pending but we will just keep an eye on it. The person has been told letters will be returned to sender now saying not at this address so hopefully that will be an end to it.0

If they're letters addressed to someone else then they don't really have anything to worry about, just send them back.
The first time I read this I assumed Resolvecall were writing letters addressed to the relative but it seems apparent now that they're just writing to the relatives address but it's addressed to the relative's family member.0
