I've received a PCN from Britannia Parking. I was driving a courtesy car as mine was in for a service. I've perused the very useful newbies area and I'll be using the appropriate template. I understand it's better to electronically communicate this due to a better paper trail except:
- There is no email address on their website
- The link to appeal a PCN simply leads to pay for it

Presumably the courtesy car firm told them your name and may have spelled it incorrectly. Sometimes PPCs spell name incorrectly to get the keeper to phone and tell them their correct name and, in the process inadvertently give away that they were the driver. If it was a courtesy car, how did the PPC know to send the PCN to you? Did the courtesy car company inform Britannia of your details and is it a Notice to Hirer?1

The link to appeal a PCN simply leads to pay for it.That cannot be right. Look more closely for an appeal tab or button. It must be there because no-one has ever reported a problem with appealing to this PPC. All of them put 'PAY' in your face on the appeals pages but there is also an appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@Poesklap, I too cannot see any option to appeal that PCN.
I was able to check because you have kindly told the world your PCN number and your vehicle's registration number.
Suggest you take those images down immediately, before any mischievous, or malicious, person works out how to do it and appeals on your behalf.1 -
What happens when you click as if to enter liable party details?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It just gives you a form to fill in with the driver's details. No other options available.Coupon-mad said:What happens when you click as if to enter liable party details?2 -
Needs a complaint to Sara Roberts, Head of AOS at the BPA, who I believe used to work for Britannia! Could be wrong but that's in my mind from an old copy of Parking News or summat.

Thanks, I'll try this. I wonder how a faulty website would stand up as a defence in court, I suspect it'll come to this.Coupon-mad said:Needs a complaint to Sara Roberts, Head of AOS at the BPA, who I believe used to work for Britannia! For those who need it: I've been provided an email address for contact compliance@britannia-parking.co.uk
They're requesting I appeal using this email address.2
