Cruise agent misselling a cruise package

I'm on that cruise! I have an email from Iglu but nothing from MSC. My email from Iglu says "Premium Extra Package 0.00", which I assume is drinks. I'm due to pay the balance on my cruise 28 May.0

Hi. Have you checked your MSC confirmation to see Premium Drinks Package is included ? Mine just says tea, coffee and water. When Iglu advertised the cruise, it clearly said the Drinks were included in the price and their confirmation stated it was.clearancer said:I'm on that cruise! Is an email to customer services deemed acceptable for a LBA ?0

By all means send it by email, but also send a hard copy by Royal Mail with delivery confirmation. Note on the email that a hard copy has been sent and vice versa.bobstheboy said:Is an email to customer services deemed acceptable for a LBA ?1 -
I believe email is deemed to be “served” from a legal perspective.bobstheboy said:Is an email to customer services deemed acceptable for a LBA ?
(I had an issue with an electricity supplier Symbio where I looked into this).
I’d turn on delivery and read receipts.
Personally I’d pay the extra quid or so for recorded delivery by snail mail
just to avoid any excuses of “email lost” or “lost in the post”
if you have a picture of a signature (which you usually get) then it cuts out any debate about it.
if you want to be super sure then do both.1 -
Just saw on Facebook that P&O have a Fjords cruise in June for £599 (for an inside). So it looks like there are some great deals to be had out there this year. So getting the refund could be the better deal.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!1

Exactly. There are some very good deals and my dates are flexible, that's why I am getting more and more annoyed with Iglu as the days go by. I am not desperate for the cash but need to know where I stand.0 -

Best is to send a letter first class and ask the post office to give you a certificate of posting which is free. Courts will accept this as being delivered two days later. If you want a really belt and braces approach you can send duplicate letters with CoPs from different post offices.

LBA should get things moving.bobstheboy said:IvanOpinion said:Just saw on Facebook that P&O have a Fjords cruise in June for £599 (for an inside). So it looks like there are some great deals to be had out there this year. So getting the refund could be the better deal.

some companies have good complaints processors that go to totally different departments who sometimes act quickly. Wouldn’t know about iglu but it could be worth a try maybe at the same time as sending LBA or giving them a few days.
I agree you should have to hang around with no update. It’s a clear cut case.0 -
Thanks for everyone's support. Iglu have agreed to pay for Drinks package and I have confirmation from MSC that it has been added to my booking. I can look forward to my cruise now !4
