in Credit cards
I am considering adding my wife as an authorised user on my credit card but I’m wondering about what happens when you buy online and it wants you to authorise the transaction in the bank app or via a text message. It would be annoying to have to do this each time she buys something. Does anyone know how this works?
FYI: my wife has moved from Canada and Is still building her credit history. There’s nothing negative but due to her being self employed and on maternity leave her score isn’t high enough (combined with her current low income) for her own card. She’ll mostly be using it for small purchases.

Hi, I have an Amazon Credit card and a Halifax credit card where my wife has an authorised card. Both the amazon and halifax android apps allowed me to assign her mobile phone number to her card and it works fine.

Thanks Peter, I checked the rules on my Tesco Creditcard and it said the authorised user wouldn’t have access to online, app or mobile banking. This made me think it wouldn’t work. I could check whether Tesco do something similar to Amazon and Halifax.0

My OH is the main user and I'm a 2nd cardholder. We both have our own separate internet banking/app logins and tel numbers for the same account and can both individually authorise our own payments.0

I know Amex let the 2nd card holder have online and app access, however they can't pay the bill.0
