Another thing you could do, as well as feeding them is to remove the top few inches of soil and replace with new soil- something like John Innes no 3. (especially the sickly 'twin' )

I've already churned up the soil, removed the moss and a couple of inches and topped it up.  Now doing the feeding too.

No , I don't mean churn up the soil, I mean dig a good couple of inches out and replace with brand new John Innes 3!
