in Credit cards
I have a bunch of these from broadband and other switches, but the last £5-6 always seems to stagnate and never get spent as I rarely make payments that small in places that accept Mastercard. Online usually need delivery added on for small transactions, and you cant split credit card payments across different cards online to my knowledge. I don't think I can load it on at the bookies either...

Can only recommend taking the card to get your bread/milk/papers from the local shop type transaction really. Online would be tricky due to minimum spends and postage and inability to split card. Are you able to use it on one of your normal transactions and top it up to the required amount just before you use it so that it clears the balance?0

No idea if this is possible, but could you use it to make a one-off part-payment to your gas or electricity bill/account, something like that?

I know at Halfords I have been able to use up a work bonus payment card and then pay the rest by another way to clear the balance0

I put the whole lot on the electric via the phone and its done an dusted ,cut the card up and use a cashback card for spending .
The chance of losing the card exists making lots of small purchases ...you could risk the value left on the card if you did happen lose it .0 -
If you shop on Amazon regularly, you could 'top up' your account with whatever's remaining on each card and then use the gift-card balance on future purchases.Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.
Dealt with my debt through a Step Change (CCCS) DMP.

I agree, putting the credit on a utility bill is the quickest and easiest way for most.

Do you drive?
I've always used mine to buy fuel, and can usually time the pump a few pence short of what I have left.0
