Investing in Stocks - Plum

Has anyone had any experience with investing in stocks? I am looking at possibly doing this via the Plum app

I use Plum as a savings app each week, and just wondered if anyone has used it for investments at all, with any success?

I wouldn't use a smartphone app to invest. For that I'd go with one of the major platforms like H&L or go directly to one of the fund firms like Vanguard if you like their products. But before you do anything educate yourself, you probably want to stay well away from individual stocks.

This is a savings and investments forum and if you read through some of the threads, you will see that a lot of people here have experience of investing in stocks.
These are some of the questions you may wish to ask yourself:
Why are considering investing in stocks?
    Which stocks?
    Why via Plum?
    How much?
What is your goal for this money?
What are your long-term financial goals?

Read through some of the recent threads such as https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6354837/investing-newbie#latest for some pointers to beginner investing education.

Also, Plum is simply a platform to invest, using it would not affect any success (i.e. returns) you will or won't get anymore that any other platform, except to the extent that more expansive platforms may eat away at your returns more.

Many years of doing so. For the unwary, very easy to burn ones fingers trading individual stocks. The means by which you trade on the stock markets will have little bearing on the outcome. If you plan to trade individual stocks start educating yourself. There's no shortage of good books that will open your eyes to a complete new universe.
