EON Next Debt Recovery Threat. Is this normal behaviour?

I was transferred on the EON-Next tariff like many others. I have been paying my direct debit as specified by them and providing accurate meter readings. Today I received an email from them saying I had to pay the outstanding debit or they may take debt recovery action. Is this their normal customer approach? They set the direct debit do if the account is in debit, isn't that on them? Not trying to evade paying any money that I owe but setting a DD that is too low and threatening debt recovery action seems a bit harsh especially as they had not communicated the status before. Is this the normal behaviour for this company?

Have you checked your account to see how much debit you're in.
Can you now pay what you owe?
Have you been checking your bills and estimated annual usage against how much your DDs have been.
Did YOU not realise your DD wasn't sufficient?
I don't know if it's their standard letter or not, or how much debt you're in or how long for. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.56% of current retirement "pot" (as at end January 2025)0 -
Did you transfer over to EON Next from your previous supplier with a large debit?

Have you checked your bank statements to check if they've been taking payments each month. It's unusual to get debt recovery letters if you have a DD in place.0
