Notifying insurance of SP10 ticket

I'm wondering if this is correct. I forgot to let my insurance know about a SP10 speeding ticket from last year when the Van insurance automatically renewed. They have now been informed and I've been charged £147. The yearly insurance cost was only £160. Is this right?
I've renewed the car insurance and declared the ticket and it made no difference at all.
I am prepared to pay it, of course, but I thought the amount seemed to be rather high.
Thanks for your thoughts in anticipation.

Given that SP10 is "Exceeding the speed limit in a goods vehicle", it sounds entirely plausible that it increases your van insurance but not your car insurance. Of course, you use the same licence for both vehicles, but I'm guessing it "counts for more" on the van insurance. It may also be that different insurance companies have different policies - if you have the two insurances with different companies.

OP, perhaps they view the non-disclosure as more important than the speeding.0

The additional charge will include their administration costs for handling the non disclosure.0

It could've been worse, they could've cancelled your insurance policy.1
